An elderly gentleman, Moti Jahangir was knocked by a speeding motorbike in Mumbai on Sunday morning. Little did he know however, that the men who helped him to a nearby hospital were the security guards of a certain Mr Aamir Khan. Mumbai Mirror reports that the star was witness to the accident on Sunday while he was on his way to a studio. “When Aamir saw that the elderly man had been knocked down, he instructed his bodyguards to rush him to the nearest hospital. There are usually two cars with Aamir – one which he uses, while the other one is occupied by his security guards,” the paper quoted a source as having said.
“Aamir appeared tense when he arrived at the studio. He spoke about an accident he that he had witness on his way,” Sunil Bohra, producer of the show told the paper.Aamir too confirmed the news and voiced his anguish against callous passers-by who didn’t bother so much to give the man on the road a second glance. He told the paper, “The sad fact was that nobody stopped to help the man. He was just lying on the road even as cars were passing by. We have to learn to help people in trouble. (Had) the person lying there… (been) our family member, would we not want someone to come to his or her help?”

At a time when the relations between India and Pakistan are strained, cinema is bridging the divide. As fallout of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, the release of two big Bollywood films Ghajini and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was canceled in Pakistan. But now, when the talk of a possible war between the two nuclear armed neighbors has subsided, it’s time to bridge the barriers. And what better way to do it than through Bollywood. Yes, Aamir Khan’s Ghajini will hit the theaters in Pakistan on Friday (today). “Ghajini has been cleared by the censors and we are anticipating it to be a big hit in Pakistan as it is Aamir’s first release in theaters in the country,” well-known distributor and exhibitor Nadeem Mandviwalla said. After initial fears that the strained relations between the two countries would also affect the cultural ties, the Pakistani Government has approved the release of the film, which is setting records at the box office in India after its release on December 25, 2008.
‘Ghajini’, which will be the first Indian film released in Pakistan after the November 26 incident, will be shown in four theaters in Karachi and all of them are reporting very good advance ticket sales, an employee of Nishat Cinema, Kamran, said. “Although, the advertising build up for the film has been low key due to the conditions but still people are keen on watching it on the big screen,” he said. He said exhibitors were hopeful that the Government would also clear the widely anticipated Chandni Chowk To China for release later this month. The cinema theater business has picked up dramatically in Pakistan since the Government lifted a 42-year-old ban on screening of Indian films in cinema halls in late 2007 with several films going on to rake in millions for the stakeholders.

This Khan surely has audiences of all shapes, sizes and ages wrapped around his finger (or probably his awesome body). Not only the junta , even industry folks (hot babes with boyfriends included) are in awe of Aamir’s sense of perfection.
Recently during an interview Katrina commented that Aamir has the best body in the business. We’re sure AK must’ve been maha-khush on hearing this, though in his usual nonchalant style he replied, “I am flattered by what Katrina has said. If you will ask me, I like John’s physique. I think he has got great body. I only did what was required for my role. I think Salman has got great physique, too.”
Hmm….we’re sure Sallu will love the latter part of Aamir’s response, but the bit about Johnny boy…we doubt he’ll agree with his dost . For ‘butt’ obvious reasons, na.
